Pressure Gages
|
|
Pressure gauges come in many sizes and in many design configurations. The gauges that are included in this listing will satisfy most standard single and two stage compressors in the farm, home, and small business market. Gauges are differentiated by PSI maximums, by connection location and by thread size. The most common thread size is 1/4". The connection location is either back mount or bottom mount. 200psi and 300psi options are available and will cover both single stage and two stage requirements. Thread size and connection location are determined by the equipment design . To select the correct PSI gauge, choose a gauge where your normal operating pressures will fall between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock on the face of the dial. As a general rule, a two stage unit will operate between 140 and 170psi and use a 300psi gauge while a single stage compressor will operate between 85 and 120psi and use a 200psi gauge. This style of gauge should never be installed in a location that is subject to the direct heat and pulsation of the compressor pump. This will cause rapid movement of the needle and cause premature failure of the gauge. For this type of application, a liquid filled gauge is available.
